Where can I go to get good artwork--either a reproduction of a famous painting or something original? It can be paint on canvas, a photo, or even a poster--I'm not picky.

Preferably, I'd like something abstract with a lot of red in it on a plain white border and a thin, black plastic canvas. Any recommendations for a good piece are welcome, too.

Thank you, lovely aficionados of Dave-land! Wink

The most art I've seen for sale has been in areas that get a lot of tourists. Itaewon and Insadong both have a few art shops. You'll find a variety of price ranges... 10,000 won to.... well, it can go up a lot.

Most of what you'll find will be paintings of "traditional" scenes in Korea. I'm not sure about abstract.

Let us know what you do find.

I do know of one place--in the ground floor of Yongsan station below the electronics market there is a small gallery, but their stuff is very girly.

Go to the gift shop at the Seoul Arts Center. Tons of prints, famous artists as well as just decor stuff, and professional framing.
Also check out the Klimt exhibition on now.
