Just sign, get the airfare, ditch them when you arrive, and work illegally for three months. Sleazy? Yes. Just desserts? Perhaps. |

I don't understand wanting to get a three month hit of Korea, you either like it or you don't, plus the more settled in you get the better it works for you. |

go to a hypnotherapist and have him work it so you don't remember there was ever such a thing as Korea.
Because if you don't, in about 5 months time, you are going to be back here talking about all the things you don't like about korea |

OP? Whats that?
Thanks Layertood
Um, well it sounds bad but I didnt actually find too much time and energy after a day of teaching kids his age to at home school him.my son fell behind. It would be unfare to bring him because of this, plus he was lonely.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I might consider a camp. |

sorry silly willy. didn't mean to dis yu with my comment about kids. it seems yu are a single parent. that would be hard here.
i have my kids here at the moment (well 2 of them) but they are old. one is 22 and working. the other is only 14 and quite able to go off on his own - catch the subway to seoul and explore for himself. i got him a handphone for emergencies....
my kids were raised as expatriate children. pretty good life in general i think. they certainly have a broad experience. speak more than just english too.
best wishes in finding work that suits yu here. i know i would miss thye place terribly if i ever leave... (which i don;t intend to) |

I didnt feel dissed. Were your kids born there? Is your 14 year old going to a foreign school? My son didnt learn tooo much Korean but his English started to take on a Korean sentence sructure so that he sounded like Yoda |

my kids were born in australia and still live there with their mum. we are no longer married. we lived many years in papua new guinea. all have pretty fluent melanesian pidgin.
they are visiting me here. not for the fiirst time.
good long visit. 6 weeks for the young one, 10 for the older. the latter speaks good korean.
i have two more kids! am planning to bring another one up here very soon - perhaps for 6 months or longer. he is 21 and can work here. |
