This is probably a really stupid question, but when I transfer money do I use the SWIFT number of the FROM location, or the TO location? If I am sending money from Korea to the United States, do I use the SWIFT number for Seoul, Korea or New York? |

I believe the swift number is a term for the "ABA routing number" of your bank in the U.S.,
to wire money from korea to U.S. you need the ABA routing number of your bank in the U.S., and then your checking account number at that bank where you want the funds deposited, too
you can look it up ABA number here:
http://www.routingnumbers.org/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing_transit_number
(if you have a check from your U.S. bank, the ABA number is to the left of your checking account number, at the bottom of your check - but do not confuse the two series of numbers) |
