So my boyfriend and I were on the subway today (green line) and we stopped at Sindorim. All of a sudden everyone was off the subway and we were just sitting there. So we figured an announcement was made to get off, so we got off as well.

Does anyone know why this might have happened? Do they just stop some cars at certain times?

Thanks

There's a huge protest at Seoul Station tonight with a lot of riot police around.

But I just passed through Sindorim around 6.45pm (on the blue line) and there was nothing noticeable there.

Because Shindorim is the end of the line for that subway. You have to get off and wait for the next one, which goes farther.

But what do I know, I'm on my 11th bottle of Corona.

Ah I see. I don't know how much sense that makes to me but it's an explanation. Thank you!

Well, at certain times of the day, when they don't need to run as many trains, some trains only go so far. So there's a train from A to B every 3 minutes, but from B to C (which isn't as popular/busy) there's only a train every 6 minutes. It happens alot at that station. If you're going further, you need to look at where that train finishes (it says on the first subway car), and wait for the next train, so you don't have to give up your hard earned seat.

Really, who could care less if someone wants to off themselves at the subway platform. I wouldn't bat an eyelash as it would take away the enjoyment of chatting up babes.

Well, Spliff, i guess the one guy at Oksu did himself in and the second guy died trying to get the dead body off the tracks.

The second guy was a medical worker trying to remove the body.

It's terribly annoying. Screws up the trains. Guy deserves to die for going out of his way to trouble everyone else.

Hanging at home is ok.

Sindorim does that crap often...I often go out of my way to avoid that station...they always have 'forwarding' or 'ghost' trains there...and they seem to like to see just how many people they can pack into the next full train...damn sindorim...

It makes little sense to take the trains off at Sindorim because that station is ALWAYS crowded.

Good grief, another death at Hansung University station? They must hold the record for the highest number of deaths at any station. They seem to have at least a few per year. I was riding through from Hyewha last year, and an old codger jumped in front of the train. Saw his body face-down between the tracks. Terrible.

It's a popular way to commit suicide in South Korea. They are rapidly putting up safety barriers but obviously not fast enough.

I am sure with the current economic woes there will be an increase. Sad
