Hey guys,

So I have been here a while now and the nightlife and such is wearing off.
It's time to admit, I want to play Wow! >.<

I played Warhammer online and Age of Conan, and they didnt really rock it as much as I remember WoW did a few years back...

Soooo anyway, I am actually from England but I want to play on Oceanic or U.S Servers because of where I am.
So if I buy WoW here in South Korea and create an account... Can I just swap and change between the two types of server until I find one that suits me?
Would I be able to play them in the UK when I go home? (IP's and such)

Will I be able to pay for an American version of the game with a credit/visa card from the UK on the blizzard site?

My friend said he had some issues when installing a US version here because of the IP or something. Has anyone brought the game here and started from scratch? If so, where did you buy it etc?

Lastly, will I need to buy ALL of the games, I.e WoW, Burning Crusade and Lich King... Or can I just buy Lich King and download the other two from a torrent. Or buy the first one and authenticate, then download the other two... Or do they all have unique authentication/ID keys?

If anyone can help in ANY way I will greatly appreciate it!
Thanks and Regards

You have to change a file in the wow directory to play on non-korean servers.. Google it and you'll find it.. its incredibly easy

You need to purchase the US version of WoW or you won't be able to play on the US/Oceanic servers without some kind of modification to the client.

You can buy the game directly from the Blizzard US website but you will need to go through a proxy to get past the IP check. You do need to have all the expansions if you want to play that content but you can buy the expansions and download the client upgrades online. They might have some kind of a buy all 3 package or something (not 100% sure on this since I have been upgrading mine as they came out).

I play the US version of WoW here, but I had an existing account from home so I had no problems. When the expansion came out, I had a friend from home buy and email me the key. I downloaded the client directly from the website.

I have an account that I don't want, with the burning crusade. if you are interested we could work something out. It has a level 38 Warlock on it that I just couldn't bring myself to even get to 40. I found WoW to be a little too repetitive. On the other hand I love Warhammer, but the Oceanic servers are pretty poor.

They [Blizzard] also tend to not like it when you have a US/UK credit card and a Korean IP. It's worth your time (to prevent getting banhammered) to email your local customer service representative to let him/her know that while your card may be connected to a western bank that you in fact reside elsewhere and that you are not using a leveling service.
