Has anyone heard any more info about when the Iphone will be available in Korea? Since the regulatory laws have changed I have only heard April, but nothing definitive from Apple or anyone else. |

I heard that this year Iphone start to come to South Korea, but I don't know if the global economic crisis effects this decision. |

I also read April 1st as the date that the new regulations will come into play, but haven't found anything about Iphone. Apple's website doesn't say anything about South Korea. Have you found some different source Smogdonkey? |

April 1 is the day that the WIPI protocol for internet communications on handsets won't be a requirement. This COULD open the market to iPhone, but the F(@*#$ Korean cell networks will still likely be restricted to only 'allowed' devices.
Chris_Dixon: The new iPhone 3G uses UMTS as well as GSM.
I have a 3G iPhone and roamed with it during my first 3 weeks here. Cost me about $900. No joke. I didn't even talk a lot, and only downloaded about 5mb.
I'm still waiting to be able to use mine here. It would be so awesome with GPS and the web browser. I have looked at some "similar" phones here, but none of them match iPhone. Also, they don't sync with my iTunes library. I can't wait till the day I can use the phone I paid for. |

Yeah, i got the Haptic 2 thinking that hell would freeze over before the iPhone would come to Korea...Haptic 2 is not near as good as the iPhone, boy i miss the email, iCal, addressbook, and iTunes syncing with my MBP... |
