If you go to Itaewon Station, there is a tourism office. If you ask them, they will give you a really nice guidebook and a pretty good map along with it for free. The book was published in September, 2008, so it is up-to-date. All significant tourist spots list website addresses for more information. Information on city tours are also in the book.
I have a Korean pocket calendar/diary thing that has a very small, but detailed map of Korean cities and highways that I will be using in addition to the tourism maps as I backpack through Korea. I cut the map out to save on weight.
I think this combination of maps and information are going to be really useful and can already recommend these resources at least for planning purposes, since I've yet to depart. |
