Ok, we all know that this is the internet, and that it shouldn't be taken too seriously, but I'm also one who likes engaging in various types of discussions. More often that not, a topic will be high-jacked by trolls, spambots, or a loonie, but even counting them I've found that posting on Dave's has occasionally helped me in forming opinions.
Many posters know me as a pretty stubborn poster - I've been in some threads where it's me against the world (so to speak), but I'm also very willing to listen.. and even admit when others have given a good point.
One case is that of marijuana. I've never used it, and never been a fan of it. Those around me in my life that did use it, were generally people I didn't think much of - lazy deadbeats would be a term that comes to mind.
But after reading through a lot of the posts on here, I find myself seriously considering the decriminalization of it. NOT that I want to use it, but rather that I honestly have come to the belief that it is less dangerous than alcohol and tobacco.
So, has Dave's given you pause for thought on any subject? |

| I've discovered that vastly more people than I had ever imagined have their corn flakes pissed in on a daily basis. |

My dealings with posters like "the_beaver" has apparently driven me crazy - reflected in my blues singing ...

| Thinking feminism leaves out some important aspects of gender equality that can be addressed with masculinist theory thanks to mollybloom. |

Dave's has helped me to be a better person. I used to be so bitter and negative. Now, thanks to Dave's, I feel good about my job and life in Korea, understand Korean people better, and am able to put any little day to day problems that come up in perspective.
I'm sure Dave's has brought positive change to many other people's lives too. |

Dave's has helped me develop the sneaky and unpredictable alter ego, mole.
I can make genuine attempts to share my experiences and try to be helpful.
Or I can be bitingly sarcastic.
On the selfish side, I come here hoping to benefit from others' experiences and gain from a variety of perspectives.
I leave the flaming, sock puppeteering and debating to the rest of you.
I have no neurotic emotional need to one up others to make myself feel morally or intellectually superior.
Without Dave's I'd likely be obsessed with online gaming, or alternatively, have a life. |

Dave's definitely has a lot more whiny foreigners compared to the number I've actually met in real life. I'm glad for that...mainly because I hear that if you roll your eyes too much it might get stuck that way. And online I can just do this
On a side note...I've found myself becoming paranoid about getting ripped off by my school after I read all the horror stories. |
