Has anyone had their school ask for, within the last month or so, all your personal information and a copy of your passport for the education office, i.e. address back home, parent address and phone number back home, year coming to Korea, all jobs held in Korea, etc for some report or stats the Education Department is doing?
Several teachers in Hanam have been asking for this on behalf of the Education Center office. |

Yeah. But my school is organized and the only thing they needed from me was to see my Alien card. They had the photocopy of my passport I gave them in my documents when I applied for the job.

No ARC asked for but ...I was sitting with a buddy last night and his CT called and wanted to know when he came to Korea, all of his jobs...AND just last week his ps had everything on a form a few pages and he had sign on another sheet that it was all True.
All in the space of a few days.
Another CT I knew at a Seoul ps HS said she had to fill the info online about her native teacher...everything about them..past jobs here..home address, parent's address and phone number , etc. but no copy of a passport cuz it was done online..
so really am wondering bout it..so I asked here. |

If your handler were on the job, he/she would've told you it's part of the national government's requirement to get all of us foreign teachers who work at public schools enrolled into the NEIS program. Once you're in that, then you can do a lot of the paperwork relating to your employment (pay statements, requests for time off, etc.) online and not have to chase around the building with a clipboard in hand looking for people to sign papers. |

I always lie when they ask things about my personal life, like parents and stuff like that. God only knows what some kind of crazy person would do once they freak out. |
