Hi all,

I will travel to Fukoka next week in order to get a new visa.....as I am just about to change jobs. Ideally I'd like to be able to go for one day and return the next. The earliest flight I have seen....gets into the airport for 9.20am. I am wondering is it doable to get the consulate soon after this?.........which would enable me to be able to return the next day?

Or is that cutting it too fine?

Thanks all.

They won't issue your visa on the same day. It's a overnight process. No amount of begging of pleading with the consulate employees will change that. Use this link for info on getting to the Korean Consulate.

Whatever you do, don't take a taxi from the airport to the Consulate.

Be sure to take Yen with you, or some major currency other than K won.

Many years ago, I ran into some foreign teacher outside the K. Consulate with a taxi in the street and the driver on his heels. The teacher owed the driver over $200 in yen but he had only Korean won. Since few banks in Japan will swap for won, the guy was begging for people to help him out.

It took about 30 minutes for enough of us to come up with enough yen to exchange for the guy's won to cover the taxi.
