|
|
| I would prefer to be close to one of those stations (up to a 20 minute walk would be okay), or even a nearby station like Ahyeon. However, I'm not sure where to look for cheap apartments. So far it looks like Edae is a bit cheaper. My budget is 5,000,000 key money and 400-600,000 a month. I would like 2 rooms or a massive 1 room. Is this asking for too much in this area? Does anyone know how much rents are in the Ahyeon area? I just want to be in this general corner of town and easy access to the green line would be a major plus for my commute. Any help, advice, etc. would be much appreciated. |

| You will be looking at a hole for that much key money down. Maybe a older officetel, but you will need at least 10 million down, and monthly rent would be at least 600,000 if not a lot more. Good luck. Update and tell us what happened. |

Not quite a hole. I found a 2 bedroom for 5/600 3min walk from exit 2 of Hapjeong Station. That station is about a 15min walk from Hongdae Station so... just keep looking.
Maybe you could look around there, granted there's not much around there unless you walk to Hongdae or something but that's why it's cheaper right... |

The answer is...."they aren't"
Way too much demand and way too many rich Korean students in the area.
Go down line 2 a few more stations and the prices get better...a lot better. |

There are cheap places around Ewha Station. Head up toward Sogang University and head into the allies. You'll be looking forward to a hike on the way to your new abode, but the prices are right.
Or you can head out Ewha Station (exit 7?) going toward Shinchon and then duck into the allies along the way. There is some construction going on along the main road, but up and behind that, there are a load of cheap (and often kind of run down) housing units.
Best bet is to hit up all the real estate agencies in the vicinity of the subway station around that area. There used to be a movie theatre around where I'm talking about, but now I think it's a Samsung store or something like that.
Good luck. |

Ahyeon has a lot of affordable places, I'd go there and look around.
Edae has fewer big places unless you search in the Yeonmi-dong area that is a bit of a ways away.
Sinchon, well, one rooms and smaller are okay there. |
