My girlfriend is wanting to head back to korea as soon as she possibly can. She's going through the recruiter process but it turns out her previous school has lost her degree certificate which they told her they would post to her once she got back to canada as they were having trouble finding it then. Yeah she shouldn't have left without it but what's done is done.

Her Uni has told her that she can't have a new copy until may which is ok-ish but a bit too long to wait.

Do immigration really need to see a degree certificate again once you've already been there once before?

Surely there is record of her degree's existence?

Any help to get round this would be greatly appreciated.

You need either a degree or a certified copy of the degree. No exceptions (if she is planning to go on an E-2 visa).

Immigration does not keep records like that. I have had to show my degree each and every time I applied for a E-2 visa.

If that is the case, what do you think about this thread?

Apparently the only way to eliminate the hassle associated with verifying your degree is to go through KCUE.
