|
|
Hi everybody
My friend's boyfriend really loves it here, speaks perfect English (and is also tall blond guy so Koreans would love him) but he comes from Holland so he isn't eligible for an e2 visa.
Any ideas on some jobsites that aren't just for english teachers? He doesn't have to teach.
He has a business degree and has travelled some.
Thanks,

Try here: http://koreaherald.co.kr/newkhcommunity/job_index.asp
I found most jobs require a degree that is very specifically related to the job, and often 2 years certified experience in the field. I think that is to satisfy immigration though. |

So, would it be possible for me to work in a restaurant as a waiter?
I doubt very much there is a "degree" for that sort of thing, unless you are talking about a hospitality degree or something. |

If you don't speak Korean, I doubt you'd get a job as a waiter. Maybe in a restaurant that caters almost exclusively to foreigners.
Even if that job existed, you'd still have to satisfy immigration, and they seem to expect a degree. Maybe 'Hotel Management' would be the relevant qualification? |

Basically, you need to satisfy the requirement that you are doing a job that no Korean can do. Simply put, what do you bring to the table as a waiter, that a Korean does not? If you spoke fluent Korean, had a hospitality degree and extensive knowlede/experience in a niche market (i.e. as a Sommelier/wine waiter) you may be in with a shot at a top end restaurant or hotel. If you speak no korean and want to work at a Hof, well why the hell would immigration give you a visa, let alone someone actually hire you? |
