I finished my last class this (school) year at 2:05 on a stormy, Friday the 13th... and don't have classes until 'next' year - March 2. Monday morning is the 'grad' ceremony for the grade 3s (middle school)... then we're out for lunch and (for some 'senior' males) massive quantities of alcohol. Very Happy

There was good news and bad news this morning.

First, the bad news - I found out my CT/handler is taking a one-year sabatical to study English; but they don't yet know who will replace her... "Probably, a new (to the school) teacher." Great! Now I'll have to 'train' a new one... oh well.

The good news - 'Presents' from the school kept appearing on my desk this morning: first, a nice little 8G memory stick (too bad it won't work in any of the ancient, slower-than-the-second-coming, virus-infected, classroom computers Rolling Eyes); then, the 2008 Year Book in which they published an interview with me - complete with pictures and all sorts of 'misquotes' in Konglish... LOL, plus an article about me written by my CT/handler; then, the 2009 Graduation Anniversary Album in which I'm given 'equal billing' with all the K-teachers, and under my picture, beside my name they wrote 선 생 님. Very Happy All-in-all it's been a good year.

Huh?... I'm not in Incheon; and I don't teach at an elementary school - it's middle school.

We had a Hanwoo shabu shabu lunch and the maekju was flowing. No gifts but glad to finish the year and get away from the brats.

My coteacher is leaving and I dont think I could do better than her. I really struck the lottery this year. So, I gotta retrain a new one now.

I too have been extremely lucky (so far) - my first CT/handler was as close to fluent in English as possible without being a native speaker. My current (the one who is going on sabbatical) is sweet, has fairly good English and knew me as a co-teacher before she moved into the 'handler' position when the first was transferred - she was already 'trained'. Wink

I figure there's no sense worrying about what will happen on March 2. What ever happens, I can't control. I have no reason to anticipate any problems and I'm going to enjoy my two weeks off. Cool
