I have my passport, original diploma, 2 sets of sealed transcripts, criminal background check notarized. I would also like to get my original diploma notarized and apostilled so I don't have to send them the original. Would i send the background check and the original diploma to NC secretary of state to get apostilled and than to korean embassy in atlanta? Or could i just send the diploma and background check to atlanta korean embassy to get apostilled? thank you

where are you from in NC? I'm from Lincolnton, about 45 minutes west of Charlotte. I went to UNC Chapel Hill

To answer you questions - you need to send the copy of your diploma and criminal background check to the Secretary of State in Raleigh. Each document will cost you $10. If you want you can take it to their office, which is right across from the capitol building. If you take it before 9 AM or so they can usually get it back from you within a few hours. You need to go on their website and fill out the sheet to acquire an apostille. Fill out a separate sheet for each document. If you mail it you need to include a SASE - if you want express then make sure you buy an express envelope. I think it's gonna take about 2 weeks to get everything back if you just do regular mail.

They can't apostille at the Korean embassy.
