I was recently going to buy one from a guy, but he bailed and sold it to someone else. So after getting pumped for 720p X-boxage I really can't get the 32"lcd outta my system. I have been looking around for the best deal on one. I have seen some off brands on gmarket for around 570,000, that seem good enough, 720p, 5ms, 10 000:1 etc (They all have some sort of LG/Samsung screen anyways). My question is whether or not anyone has seen or knows of where to get a better deal.

If anyone has any insight, that'd be good.

Cheers

The majority of 360 games are 720p, there may be about 50 titles that do 1080 now. And the price jump from 720p to 1080p is too much to warrant the 32" screen size, where you most definitely would not even notice the quality difference anyway. Unless you are gaming on 42" or more you really don't need that extra 360p.

Maybe because the human eye really can't distinguish between 720p and 1080p on smaller screens such as 32 inches from a normal seating distance?

True. The smaller the screen, the less important the resolution......but I also sympathise with jeff.......use the xbox to its full. Get a 1080p screen.

Well sure, but that means 42 inches or larger, and the price that comes with Full HD, not something to be discounted.

Just remember that you'll will have to sit no further than 6ft away from your screen to notice any benefit of 1080p over 720p.

Blistered corneas anyone? Very Happy

Any LCd made in the past few years is likely 1080i and 720p capable....I wouldn't worry so much about 1080p unless your going to get a bigger size...and even then, it's not so huge a difference.

The responses I have gotten so far give great info, but I already knew all of it. What I do want to know is if anyone knows where to find a solid deal on a 32" LCD tv. I don't care if it is a smaller company, so long as the response rate is below 6ms and it has a decent contrast ratio and can do 720p.

Anyone know where to find the best deal?

I would suggest that you go to a brick and mortar store (real physical location), have a look at the TVs there and judge them on the picture quality. They will look vastly different from one another, and that is not all due to the settings being used. Make note of the models and prices, then check online to see if you can find a better price on the models that you liked. That is exactly what I did in September. I ended up buying my TV (PAVV 32" 720p) at HiMart, talked them down to within 30 000won of the best price I had found online, and got some free stuff thrown in as well (audio cables, r/g/b cable, hdmi cable, d-sub cable to connect to my laptop).

Just don't buy from a Samsung or LG boutique store on the street. I did that, got screwed on price, and they refused to refund my money after I had numerous problems. The service is not better -- it's worse. If I had purchased from another store selling other brands, I could have traded for something better from a competitor.

The TV's mostly come from the same warehouses, and have the same service guys anyway.
