Actually, this thread is about no such thing. Though there was a thread about India's backlash against women which discussed hindus. It didn't get more than about 40 hits. I'm curious as to whether the additional word in the title will get more hits. Wink

After all, as another regular wrote: "If it's Jews it's news. " Switch "Jews" for "Muslims" and it still holds true.

As I predicted, this thread go more hits more quickly than the original one, and soon surpassed it.

It is open to debate whether or not pink panties make the most inspiring rally-flag for the forces of Indian secularism.

I find it interesting that BB's counter to all the negativity against Muslims is to evidence comparable negative behavior of different religions.

I would've thought some positive articles about Muslims would have been in order.

Well, are there really a lot of positive articles about Muslims, or for that matter any religion? It's kind of like how the newspapers only report on the planes that crash, not then ones that take off and land safely.

There are lots of people/organizations who have as an explicit goal improving the popular opinion of muslims/islam.

Like this one:

Muzzammil Hassan came to America from Pakistan 25 years ago. He became a successful banker in Buffalo, New York, near the famed Niagara Falls.

While he and his wife were happy to be in the United States, they were upset by the negative perceptions of Muslims, and particularly how this perception might affect their children.

That is how they came up with the idea of Bridges TV. Mr. Hassan's wife challenged him to start it.

Here's the flaw in your wonderful study:

I clicked on it because I was puzzled that you posted an "anti-Muslim" thread. Had another poster posted it, I might have not done such a thing. Why? Because you never post such things on here. I figured it must be a pretty awful story if YOU were going to put it on this board. Wink IOW, maybe it got a lot of hits due to your reputation more than anything else.

Contrast that to your first posting of India, Women, and Hindus. Totally fits the type of story you tend to post on here, and not one I (obviously) am prone to read.

Actually, it was in response to mises' commentary that only "Jews are news" so I created this thread to demonstrate the point that muslims are also very titillating. And this exercise did seem to indicate that oppression of women is really only of any interest to posters on this forum if it is muslims who are doing the oppressing..

As for your comment, as OTOH points out, benign non-Jihadi-woman-stoning-wife-beating muslims are simply too dull and boring and not at all what punters would consider newsworthy muslims.
