I bought something from them and when I took it home it wasn't as described. I have tried to call them but they don't answer. Rolling Eyes

I know it was for parts...
Do you remember when I asked WHY the duct tape was there?
You replied "I thought the battery would FALL OFF". In fact the clip on the battery was broken off and it won't stay put unless I have it taped.

I also asked if there were any cracks...
There were two... Unfortunately I was late for an appointment and I should have checked more closely.
One of the cracks was conveniently concealed by the duct tape... Shocked
The other was in the base in the bottom right corner.

So I think this poor 2,000 USD laptop was hurled several times against god knows what...Instead of a "I don't know what is wrong with it"!

Honesty goes a long long way in one's path... But hey if you fall off you can always say I didn't SEE that hole. Shocked

FYI... Yes, you did text me back like a day later. But why haven't you answered my calls or returned them? AND you never emailed me. I would never have put this on a public forum unless I didn't have any faith in th OP seller.

Yes, I do understand when it says for parts only.

But I did ask her directly about the battery and why the duct tape was there.

So, no lie there then.

Should have.

He probably hasn't answered your calls because there is nothing to say. Sorry, but all of this is the OP's fault. You went to the sellers' house, saw the item, then you paid for it.

I think you need to look at your own discerning eye as the culprit here. Nobody forced you to buy it, nobody forced you to go look at it when you had no time. Too bad you weren't more careful....that's the tag.

Hardly warrants a "buyer beware" it's not like you sent money and didn't get anything in return. It seems to me you didn't check the lappy well when you picked it up. You did meet the seller in person, did you not?

for christs sake. You went to the place, looked at everything, and bought it. boo hoo. you knew it was broken, as it was stated "for parts only", and now you are moaning that it is "too" broken. Come on. Your just fishing for comments. Grow up.

Maybe he wanted her to tie herself with laptop and ship to his home. (not in a ship though).

Dude, when a computer is being sold FOR PARTS, then it IS for PARTS. (read the capitals, shall we?).

Enjoy the piece of crap while it was acknowledged as crap while being sold.

I think the problem is the money he gave.

Did he actually give 2 million won or more? If so, maybe he gave too much just for parts. If that is the case, I can understand why he is upset. The outside frame is just as much a part as the parts inside the computer.

If he is complaining about the whole laptop not being up to working condition, then it's his fault for not getting a new laptop in the first place.

I'd say make a bank transfer of 10% of what he paid because the cracks were concealed. Then, lesson is learned on both ends.

just as an FYI, the McDOnalds cup thing most people have factuallly wrong.

The case in question that caused the warnings came about because the coffee was SO HOT that it actually weakened the cup on the bottom and the hot coffee cae out the bootom of the cup and scalded the ladies legs QUITE BADLY.

It was not some stupid lady that spilled hot coffee.

As is the stupidity of the legal justice system the answer was to put warnings on the coffe saying that (DUH) the contents are hot.

The lady was also awarded a settlement because it wasnt her stupidity that caused the accident.

As for the OP

You should learn some Latin "Caveat Emptor" its kind of a corner stone of a capitalist economy, as as someone said, there doesnt seem to be any lies involved, just "misinformation" or incomplete facts, BOH of which are ALSO a cornerstone of capitlist economy asn is practiced with regulairty by EVERY major corporation in the world

For clarification:

The laptop battery was NOT falling off when I put the duct tape there.
In fact, I had been asking my then boyfriend to put it there for days because I had paid a lot of money for the laptop therefore I didn't want it to crack. I assumed that the battery clip would have been in the same condition as when I put the battery on. How was I supposed to know that the battery clip was broken?? I offered to take it off for you and examine it because I hadn't in years! As for the cracks, again, where are you talking about? Look, I didn't purposefully give you "misinformation" about the laptop. As far as I knew, the hard drive kaputted on me, I put it into my closet, and I didn't take it out for 6 months. I even told you, "I can't find the adapter" and had to go look for where I had placed it.

I sat at the station, offered to plug it into the wall, offered to take the duct tape off. What else did you want me to do?

I agree. I've often suspected "jackdaniels" of being a sock, but who knows? People definitely need to be careful who they deal with on the Internet, in any case.
