|
|
my contract is up next month. I met today with the person who relays all the info from the office regarding my last week, payment, air tkt, etc.
she said severance wasn't paid until 30 days after my last day. She said other teachers knew that and had received theirs ok. The school does pay every year whether you renew or not.
I said, well, if I was still working here I wouldn't mind but if I'm not here it needs to be sooner. I said the end of March is ok, but it needs to be by then.
Our regular payday is on the 25th.
I've never had to wait for severance before - usually its on the last day or even before.
Does anyone know what the law says as when it should be paid? |

According to labor law, all money that is owed to you must be paid within 14 days of your final work day.
30 days is far too long and illegal.
Check the labor standards act thread for more information.

Should state in your contract that it be paid on the last day of your contract.
I really like it how Koreans, all Koreans, that I've worked for pay the night of payday. |
