2nd year, new school, visa questions

i finish up my 1st year in may and intend to stay, i will be changing schools however. ive heard lots of stories, all different about the visa application. what documents will i need. i submitted a criminal check before, so do i need to do it again? also ive heard that visa runs are no longer done, you can stay in korea. ill be on an E2 if that helps. sorry if this info is out here, ive tried to find it and had no joy, thanks in advance

It depends...I am going through the same thing right now. If you can get things done in time before your visa expires, you should be able to just transfer your visa to the new school. (At least that's what I was told)

You need a release letter from your old school however and the new school has to have their mind made up to hire you.

I might just make it under the wire, but...you never know. In case I don't make it, I have a ticket booked to Japan and return.....if I have to.

I am leaving things in the hands of my recruiter, I told her my situation and we have to get things sorted before the 23rd. or I will have to leave and then start the whole process over.


I wish us both all the luck we can get.

cheers, i think im going to apply for a new check to be on the safe side. it takes a while in the uk.

But... won't it mean you're throwing away between 4 & 5 million won for severance and airfare? It hardly seems worthwhile... take a break, go home, see your family, get new CRC and a new visa!
