I'm wanting to take a carry-on suitcase (that fits requirements) and also a regular backpack. Do you think this will be a problem?
I know some of you will say to contact the airlines, but I'm just wondering if they will even make a big deal about it. I will have my laptop in my backpack....so that's sort of a laptop case, right?
Has anyone ever brought a carry-on and a backpack? |

| I do this nearly everytime I travel. I have my laptop in my carry on, and my purse in my backpack. I have never even been questioned about it. I don't think that you'll have any problems! |

I wouldn't think the backback would be a problem as long as it's small like a student backpack. You could just get a briefcase with many compartments to store your laptop, documents, medicine, and other small carry on things. Some of them briefcases are huge.
Going to and from America, you are allowed 1 carry on and 1 personal item such as a briefcase or purse with no weight limits mentioned, but on international flights not going to or from America America, they only indicate 1 carry on and nothing about an extra personal item being allowed. Also on these flights, only 20KG or 44 pounds is allowed as a check on luggage allowance with a paltry 7KG carry on limit.
If going to or from America, you're allowed 2 check on bags weighing up to 23KG or 50 pounds each. That's a huge generous difference as compared to baggage allowances on flights not going to or from America. |
