I was just curious if anyone from GEPIK has, or have heard of anyone, getting the week off for marriage? I'm engaged and if I could take off an extra week on top of the vacation days to get married, that would be pretty cool. I will probably take it in the summer break anyway, maybe tacking on to the regular vacation days.

Also, for gepik teachers, when is your summer vacation this year?

I'm not in Korea yet, but will be coming next week.

I had both the marriage leave and special leave for the birth of a baby. No problem (especially during the semester break).

I too was afforded the 7 days but only after a little trouble. I asked my "helper" and he went and asked the Head Teacher who without even taking a second to think about it said no. I quoted the contract and my "helper" just put on a smug smile and said he can't do anything about it. I went to the principal the next day with my wife to interpret in case my Korean wasn't understood and also asked my "helper" to be there. The principal approved the leave almost immediately.

I got mine (added onto my regular vacation time during the semester break) and I know at least two other people who got theirs (including one who got it in the middle of the semester).

Should be no problem at all.
