I am assuming it depends on what grade level you are assigned for. Any funny stories about western dressing code not fitting in with Korean dress code? Give me something funny, plz!

Invest in a clip-on tie if you're going to be teaching children. The little darlings like to yank 'em.

Gee, I am so sorry to ruin your grammar appetite. I hope you rule the world with your sarcasm. It will never help you get a date though. LOL, welcome to the real world.

Welcome to the boards, and what a way to enter, piss all over an old time member. Sure, its the internets and you dont need any English to participate, but it helps to scrub up before teaching the stuff.

Dress codes vary, a lot. Where I worked it was shorts, t-shirt and sandals in summer, and whatever was warm enough in winter. This was teaching elementary kids in an academy the year before last.

Last year I worked in a high school and it was more formal...

Teaching adults you will need more professional looking clothes.

I was not trying to piss on anyone. I just think it is unfair to assume someone he/she lacks grammar skills based on a single mistake. As an example, you wrote ... its the internets and you...I believe correct wording is internet in singular form since there is no alternative internet on planet earth. VanIslander felt the need to express his grammar superiority on this new member and I got nothing against it. Like I said, it is 3 o'clock in the morning here. Give me a break! Love you all and let's not argue on internet. It seems so childish. BTW, I don't play WOW or Starcraft. LOL...

Actually, there is more than one "internet" depending on the protocol ... nevermind ... I get your point ...

Gee, talk about dressing to earn 1.8m won.

Foreign College Graduates walking around like 16 year olds with acne. No wonder we get no respect.

This is a play on Bush's "read it on the internets".

At almost all children's hagwons casual is fine. Some do have a dress code (usually just shirt & tie), which can make some newbies apprehensive; but this is actually a sign that they want a higher degree of professionalism at work. Generally, the younger the students, the more informally you can dress.

Managers who see dress code as professionalism can sometimes be real pains, focusing on style instead of substance.

Golf courses also have different dress codes. Some you have to wear long pants, some shirts and a collared shirt, and some anything goes. I find middle of the road is fine.

I think Koreans pull off sandals better than English teachers.
