You can do a visa run to any country you want... if your K-Immi file is 'clean'.
If you're worried about the expense, wouldn't it be less expensive to take the hydrofoil from Busan over to Fukuoka than to fly to Taiwan? |

I did a visa run to Taipei in December. It's just as easy to do it there as Japan or anywhere else. The only thing you need to know is that it takes 3 business days to issue the visa at the Korean Mission in Taipei. (ie. drop off Monday pick up Wednesday or drop off Friday pick up Tuesday, etc). In Japan it only takes 2 days.
I should also mention the mission in Taipei was completely empty both times I was there. It was a totally stress-free experience. After having done 2 visa runs to Osaka, where the consulate is always packed and requires a lot of waiting in line, Taipei was a nice change of pace. |

yeah - I've done one in Taipei as well - was fun, nice change of pace from Japan - and as for expense - I always spend too much money in J and never have anything to show for it - the food was incredible in Taipei - as were the museums, the people - made me wish I was working there instead - so go and have a blast.
ps there are several threads over in the travel forum if you did around a bit. |
