63.2% isn't a bad place to be after such a busy month.
I think it was George Will who said on last week's Sunday morning ABC news show that although bipartisanship hasn't blossomed, the rancor of the last 16 years is gone because the Republicans in Congress genuinely like the man. That is pretty good change.
(Bill) Clinton says he gives Obama an 'A' for his first month but would like to see him express more hope. I agree with that. Obama has to be straight about the crisis, but I think, like FDR, he should also express confidence that we can solve the problems. Reagan did the same kind of thing. Playing 'national cheerleader' is an important part of leadership...kind of like the coach in the locker room at half-time when the team is down 15 points. |
