My name is Patrick Gallagher and I have been working in Busan since 2003, I was in Seoul before this from 2000-2003. I have never posted here and have used this site occasionally (mostly reading the faq and travel forums).

Anyway I wanted to let people know that a friend of mine and former member here was hit by a drunk driver last week. His user name here was Homer, his name is Chris. The accident happened in Toronto last week as he was driving from his uncles' place back to his friends house. His wife and son were in the car when a drunk driver slammed into the driver side as he ran a red light.

Chris is in ICU but his wife and son are ok. I have been friends with Chris since I arrived in Busan as we worked together. He has been a great friend and a huge help over the years.

Just wanted to let people here know as I know he was an active member for sometime.

Anyone wants to send sympathies can do so at [email protected], his wife will check it.

No! You don't mean good ole Homer?! Say it isn't so! I am not sure what to say about that. I like Homer. He is a nice guy. I hope he recovers quickly. I will send an e-mail.

Get well soon man.

It would take more than a shitty drunk driver to wipe out the legend that is Homer!

That's terrible news. I hope Homer/Chris makes it. Never met him in real life but found him likeable and helpful enough on these boards. My best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Get Well soon, Homer.

Patrick, that email address didn't work for me. I got a message saying it has been discontinued. Do you have an alternate? Or the name of the hospital so we can send flowers?

Thanks!

Homer? Seriously? That sucks.

Get well, homie. Even though I didn't like much of what you said, I hope you recover OK.

Hey, it wasn't a trucker named kevin that hit him,was it?

Good Luch, Homer. There are to many drunk drivers driving the roads.

I hope you recover fast and well, too. You are missed at the boards, you know that, even through disagreements.

As a dad myself, my prayers are with your family, too. I remember how proud you were about your son. I hope the little guy is holding out OK.

I really hope this is not a put-on.

I always liked Homer and enjoyed reading his posts. He has been missed on these boards since he left and I wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.
