|
|
Someone I know wanted me to post this for her:
So basically, this person has quit her job 6 months into the contract, but wants to stay here for about one month. She is wondering if quitting her job means that her E-2 VISA is canceled. She asked her boss, who said "Maybe, I will cancel it" which isn't the coolest response since she doesn't know whether it will be canceled or not. And her boss isn't responding to her anymore.
Her ARC card says Sept.6th 2009 for the expiry of the VISA. Should she just go to immigration now? |

Go to immi with a nice letter saying how you love Korea so much you need to stay here for 1 month as a tourist to visit Jeju, a few Kimchi museums and some other 'very famous place in Korea'. They will cancel the E-2 and give you a 1 month extension (no working though). |

She should go immediately to her local immigration office and inform them that she quit AND politely demand an exit order (they will take her ARC and staple the exit order into her passport).
This will effectively cancel her visa AND give her 30 days to leave the country.
She will be free to leave and return any time (within that 30 days) with or without a new job.
