Also, and i'm dead serious too, where exactly is haebangchon in respect to gangnam. I typed 해방천, but couldn't seem to figure out where it is.

It's 해방촌 welcome to Korean confusion LOL (You typed Haebangcheon)

해방촌 is near Itaewon, and in the OP's profile it says shinchon, not to be confused with shincheon.

Shinchon is on the green line, near Hapjeong station where it meets the orangish brown line 6. That's probably where you'll have to go.
