If you tell this guy anything he will do the opposite. So here goes-Dont stay in England until you find a job and get an e-2 visa.

why do you think everyone should do things how you want Shocked , if its possible to arrange it all from korea and japan it will fit my circumstances better than having to do it all in england. go stick you head back in the ground, and anyone that can actually give me some information, it would be appreciated.

I'm gonna second D.D.

Just take the time and do it right. You'll end up spending far more money coming over here and trying to find a school.

Have you ever been to Korea before? Would you know where to look for a hotel? What if you got over here and discovered you don't have all the necessary documents?

You can get a job within the next month. I did it. Just stay in England, send in your resumes, pick a job that fits you and sick back and enjoy a few more weeks at home.

I agree with the other two posters. You should probably just take care of it all from England. It would be less hassle. However, if you are independently wealthy, simply have some cash you are dying to spend, or want to sort out some traveling bug before you start work, you can do what you mentioned.

There are some complications since this is your first E2. Basically, you will need to have your degree verified by the KCUE in Korea. You can not initiate this process. Your future employer will have to start it for you. This can take about 2 weeks (while you are paying for a hotel every night). Once that is done, you can obtain your first E2 in a 3rd country. It worked for me.

Ok I am English and I came over here without an E2 visa to get a job.

Got a fantastic job!!!!!! I didn't have time to get my doc's appostilled in the Uk, so I got the train up to Seoul and got them done in the consulate. 60 000 W per doc. Took about 5 min!!!! I am going to Japan on Monday to get my E2.
Most contracts pay for your return flight, but as I had paid for my flight here, my boss will now pay for all my visa expenses to Japan (including my trip to Seoul) and my flight home after my contract (it still works out cheaper for them).

PM me next week if you wanna know how the visa run went!!!!
