So at least 80% of the boys in my classes are into one computer game or another. I just came across this thing that Seth Godin did several years ago: novelizations of older NES games like Ninja Gaiden, Blastermaster, some others. They're written in a simple style and might be a good model for something targeted towards esl students.
Isn't relevance a huge part of language acquisition ? If someone could start making novelizations of Sudden Attack, Cass online, some of the other nonsense, I think the kids would eat them up. Hell, maybe a whole series of YA novels on starcraft. For the girls, I have no idea. How cooking mama met drinking daddy? Big Bang fighting serial killers or dung monsters?
As a side note, where can I learn more about Korean copyright law, especially for a project like this? Maybe some intrepid soul could get netmarble to put up some money for this...

OTOH, I'm not sure if these games even have plots. |
