|
|
I realize this has probably been done, but I can't find anything about it, so let's do it again.
I could really go for a big ass Western breakfast one of these days. Bacon and/or sausage (breakfast sausage....not a Mr. Wow style sausage cut into small pieces), eggs, homefries, toast....maybe even get some pancakes involved.
So where's the best place to get this done?
Not really impressed by Gecko's breakfast on the weekends, and while I enjoy the quantity of Big Rock's breakfast buffet in Gangnam, the quality is kinda crappy. |

probably Suji's, in Itaewon, but boy you better be willing to fork over some bucks - maybe like 20,000 before you're finished
a good place in Daichi Dong is Frankie's Deli, near Posco but he's not open any more on Sundays so you'll have to go on Sats - very pleasant - good omelettes, much better prices.
no one in K has huevos rancheros which I'd really like |

Not sure where you live, but if you are willing to travel to Bundang, Daily Kings Diner has a nice breakfast and Butterfingers is OK, too. Both are in Jeongja-dong. |

I've got a different idea about breakfast, but if you're ever in the mood for delicious sandwiches, B & E, or waffles, the Flying Pan in Itaewon is where it's at. It's moderately expensive, but the quality is bar none. It's just up the alley next to the Hard Rock Cafe (on your right past My Thai).
It's so delicious....so very delicious. And, they do eggs bennie (with smoked salmon if you're into it). mmmmmmashisoyo.
I've never seen decent sausage here, hence my suggestion. |

Where in Itaewon is Suji's?
I'd prefer to hear about places on the North side of the river for myself (don't want to be travelling to Bundang for breakfast), but any suggestions are good, as I'm probably not the only one who gets this craving from time to time. |

O.P.
Buy what you need for your ideal breakfast.
Go home.
Cook it up the next morning.
There you have the best breakfast.

Thanks. Hadn't thought of that.
I guess there's no reason to go to a restaurant ever again.

suji's is actually closer to noksapyeong stn. head out exit three and cross the street to head towards itaewon. it's on the righthand side at the mouth of itaewon street (is it called itaewonno?) basically next to the itaewon arch.
if coming from itaewon stn., come out exit 4 and walk all the way to the end. you'll come right to suji's.
i also like flying pan blue in itaewon, and have even been known to have breakfast at the wolfhound every now and again. |

I have to agree with DMBfan. The effort it took to make this post is twice what it would take to cook your own "western breakfast" anyway you wanted. I really don't understand all the "where's the breakfast" threads here. It's like asking for a grilled cheese restaurant.
Get something special or crazy to cook at a restaurant, make things like ramyeon and scrambled eggs at home. |

while I have been known to whip up french toast with raspberries, scrambled eggs with basil and cheese, to eat on the terrace in the spring time surrounded by potted flowers; it does sooth one's spirits sometimes after returning from a long journey to find there's nothing in the fridge, or when one has been too busy to keep one's mind on buying staples and planning menus, or even just sleeping late and wanting to join friends for brunch - to venture out to a cafe with a certain ambience and charm - to partake in something different for a change of pace, however brief and fleeting in might be. |

I second the vote for Suji's. One of my favourite places. They may be a little pricey but it's always good. They've changed the brunch menu a bit now so the drinks are a little cheaper.
Go to Suji's, they have exactly what you want and the pancakes are big and beautiful. Don't get there too late, a major waiting list starts forming after 10.30 (maybe earlier on a Sunday). |

Oak Room at the Millenium Hilton has the greatest Sunday brunch. Best brunch meal I have had anywhere. Pricey but worth it. |

with all due respect Dman - you could use some cooking lessons - your menu sounds a bit, well, bland
also a bit fat-heavy |
