If I get asked while entering/leaving the country a question like "have you been working?", and I say "I have been exerting an average of 10 joules per second", what kind of reaction should I expect?

The officer will look at you like this - Confused Then you can take the oppotunity to explain thermodynamics to someone who slept through all their English classes.

The officer will only hear "yes" and then you'll be in a heep of trouble.

Why do you say that? If I remember correctly, one calorie equals a little more than 4 J, or about 10 x 10 to the negative 4th power BTU.
