Newb lurker, first time poster, and am still fresh off the boat.

Let me start by saying that I tried searching the forum, and couldn't really find what I was looking for, but if this has already been beaten to death, please point me in the right direction.

Anyway, I'm looking into getting a cell phone in/around Seoul, with just basic call/unlimited txt functions. I need english (arabic) characters (QWERTY preferred, not a deal breaker, though), not hangul. I don't need the jazziest phone out now, just one that is reliable. Are any of the carriers/phones recommended for this?

I had read that I could send/receive txt from the USA (without hidden fees) from here under many plans- is this true? I guess I'd rather do pay-as-i-go, but am willing to budge and get a contract if any of my requirements are too much.

What price range does this phone sound like it'll fall in?
