Heya, just wondering if anyone has experienced this or been turned down a visa for it.
I ask because my degree & transcripts have only my middle initial, while my passport has my full middle name.
Surely this wont trip me up but you never know with immigration. Anybody had a similar experience & got away with it okay?

I have two middle names. My degree only has the first middle name on it (a uni 'rule' when applying for graduation). My passport and transcripts have both middle names. I've had two E-2s (and renewed twice)... it's never been a problem. However, as you say - "... but you never know with immigration." And also, perhaps the embassy/consulate to which you apply. |

I have a different last name on my degrees and my passport and it wasn't a problem. My school used my maiden name as my middle name on some official documents instead of my real middle name, and that presented no problem. There is, however, always a possibility that it *could* present a problem for you - that's the 'fun' of Korean immigration. |

I have actually run into some trouble with this.
The name on my passport is 'Steven' but on my transcripts/degree it's 'Steve'. One letter makes a big difference, it seems.
The funny thing is that I was in Korea and had found a new job at a new hogwon. It wasn't a big deal, though. I just went to the Canadian embassy, paid them $50 or so, and they gave me a piece of paper that said that both documents were for the same person. |
