from EPIK re: job placement...
Quote: |
The POE will decide placements accordingly. Participants will work at primary and secondary schools within the POE, but some may be designated to work at other educational facilities within the POE system. Rejection of placement may result in disqualification from the program. |
Does anyone know enough about this to elaborate?
If I apply to the EPIK national office and I don't like the placement, and I decline, I guess that means no job... makes sense.
but what if I have another application to EPIK through a recruiter...will that also be "disqualified?"
I'm thinking of applying to the national office early to have better chances of getting the location that I want.
But if I don't get it and decline what they do offer me, am I done for? Can I apply again maybe through a recruiter that has connections through an area?
I'm just trying to time the things. |

Don't bother with the EPIK national office - they can send you almost ANYWHERE in K-land.
Use recruiter(s) who can get you the location you want. It varies by met. area/province, but in some you can even pick your specific school. |

ok.
I'm not really commenting on a location. I put a stupid title on the thread thinking that people would be more likely to read it. Maybe it works?
I'm not trying to offend anyone.
It's more along the lines of advertising than insanity. |

I for one had no idea what you were talking about.
I just presumed you were some Californian knobber wanting attention over something. |

(emphasis mine)
I worked in advertising sales/marketing for 3 years, so folks ideas about "advertising" amuses me. (Now, I'm not saying I'm Don Draper or anything special by any means.) Generally, it's been proven time and time again that a descriptive, straightforward title/slogan is more effective a vast majority of the time; if it's clever in addition to that, it's great, but it really need not be clever in general to be successful.
At any rate, that's just my blathering. I'd wager that your title hindered your ability to get replies, rather than helped it. |

The only reason I looked at this thread was because of the odd title. |
