Okay I'm looking for something mobile, but not with those dinky screens that the minis have. I'm not looking for a desktop replacement, but I do want to have gaming capability.

I want a card equal or better than the nivdia geoforce 8600M GT.

I'm open to Manufacturers. I'm looking for a solid sturdy build and something stylish.

My budge is 2,000,000won.

any suggestions?

You and Britishinsuwon seem to be after the same thing......

First thing would be to take a good walk around Yongsan (or anywhere else that sells a lot of laptops) and just touch and feel as many laptops as you can to see which ones you like.

Every permutation you can imagine is on offer......it's pretty hard to find a truly 'bad' computer these days. They all have very similar qualities at each price point.

At your price point you should get something pretty good.

Check out what there is on newegg........then you can make a kind of shortlist.......considering that there will be a lot more LG and Samsung models here......which I would be wary about. LG and Samsung tend to charge even more for their products in Korea than they do abroad. It's called having a 'captive market'.

Be careful of integrated graphics cards. At the price you're willing to pay, I'd go for the option that allows a future upgrade. Then again, I know little about computers.

I think you have to consider first, what kind of job that will you do most with your laptop. Because every brand and series have their own ability. For example for graphical processing I think you need laptop with high end graphical capability.

My suggestion is the Dell XPS or Inspiron series. They have lots of model. You can find the models in the korean websites or in Yongsan

worth a look also is Thinkpad T series. Look for the one with a separate video card not integrated.

get the toshiba QOSMIO, those beasts are top of the line for gaming and are best as mobile desktop replacements. their top of the line configuration has TWO video cards which adds up to 1GB of VRAM

I would recommend the Dell Precisions (model depends on screen size), Lenovo Thinkpad T500, and HP Elitebook w-series.

My dell xps has served me well and meets your specs/price point and their repair service in korea is great, virtually next day. A guy came out to fix mine 24 hours after the phone call to tech support.

You might have trouble affording the clevo; they are usually really expensive.
