|
|
Hi there, i'm coming over for a year filled with fun and frollicks and this will be difficult for me if i have no 'rollies', i.e. home-made cigarettes, don't panic now, there's nothing other than tobacco in them, i just prefer them to taylor-made tabs/fags/ciggies.....how easy is it to purchase the components needed?(paper, baccy and filters) |

From what I have seen, not too easy to find.
Roll-your-owns are usually cheaper in the Americas than tailor-mades.
However with ciggies being cheap in Korea, one of the purposes of roll-your-owns vanishes. |

A friend of mine used to buy them a Lotte department store, but where in the store, I never really asked. |

I`ve been here over 6 months and haven`t managed to find baccy anywhere! I have to get my mum (bless) to send a `batch` over for me when i`m out. |

Can't you just rip the filter off and smoke it?

Well, maybe...not really. Another reason why people smoke rolling-tobacco is that it is much fresher and fragrant than the tobacco in filtered cigarettes. Plus, rolling a cigarette is a whole ritual in which the smoker tries to roll the perfect cigarette. Very relaxing, if you ask me...not that I agree with smoking. |

Break open a cigarette and compare it to some good rolling tobacco. Your cigarette will look like dried out wood and twigs compared to the lush, moist rolling tobacco.
I was a rollie maker in the UK for 10 years. I don't do it in Korea because ciggies are so cheap but it is a better smoke. |

Also rolies will die of their own accord when lit, a cigarette won't.
Says a lot about how many chems they stick in fags. |

The shop in Hamiliton Hotel has Bali Shag and Drum for 16,000 KRW. The packs have papers in them. The price went up from 12,000 KRW after September's crash. |

I hear if you live in Busan you can ride the ferry to Japan and pick up your rollies. |
