The Obama administration and the media have been aggressively marketing the idea that Rush Limbaugh is the leader of the GOP and Republicans like Michael Steel have been cooperating with the strategy. This is not the first time this strategy has been used. In his article, MM describes how the GOP tried tieing him around the Democrats' collective neck.

"Why I'm Not Now and Have Never Been the Democrats' "Rush Limbaugh" '

Think about this road I've traveled. At the beginning of the Bush years, I was pretty much an outsider, referred to as being on the "far left." I usually found myself holding viewpoints that differed from the majority of the people in this country. When I spoke out against the warbefore it even startedI was marginalized by the mainstream media and then booed off the Oscar stage in "liberal Hollywood" for commenting about a "fictitious" president. Seventy percent of the public back then supported the war and approved of the job George W. Bush was doing.

But I stuck to what I believed in, kept churning out my movies, and never looked back. The Right and the White House spokespeople came after me time after time. President Bush 41 called me an "a**" on TV, and I became a favorite punching bag at both the 2004 and the 2008 Republican National Conventions in speeches by John McCain and Joe Lieberman. On the front page of this morning's Washington Post, Mark McKinnon, a top adviser to George W. Bush, revealedfor the first timethe Bush White House strategy of singling me out in the hopes of turning the country against me and the Democratic Party.

Sure, Ya-ta Boy: poor, persecuted, red-in-the-face, yelling-at-Wolf-Blizter Michael Moore. Cue the violins and get H. Clinton to serenade us with "vast right-wing conspiracy, vast right-wing conspiracy, vast right-wing conspiracy..."

Look Ya-ya boy, you are 100-105 IQ max (less based on your posts)
Take some Omega 3 fish oils and vitamin C, and some B12 liver vitamins.
You quite frankly don't have the brain horsepower to run with me

Here's a short video Cenk Uygur of 'The Young Turks' on the Michael Moore/Rush Limbaugh thing:

Somebody is running a 'billboard contest' to put up near Rush's home in Florida.

The first entry I've seen looks like this:

That will be hard to beat.

A standard set of insults that could be used against anyone, on any side, in any argument, regardless of content. It's not the kind of thing that would convince someone who didn't already agree with the speaker.

I didn't know intelligence was measured in horse power. Cars aren't really known for their superior debating ability. Excuse me I have to get back to my lawn mower to discuss Tolstoy's contribution to Russian literature.

Oddly enough, Michael Moore is completely oblivious to the parallels he himself writes between him and Rush. Both believe what they say. Both were vocal opponents of the administration. Both were/are being targeted by the current administration. Both are poster boys for heart disease. It's quite surprising Moore doesn't seem to see how the Obama Administration's plan for dealing with Rush can backfire so horribly as the Republicans plan for Moore did to them. What happened to Moore can happen to Rush if things backfire in this administration and Obama's ideas don't pan out for whatever reason.
