Found out today that my school, in the middle of the country, rural, poor and low level kids, is extremely competitive to get into.

Teachers get extra promotion credits by working here.

Anybody else's school like this?

Could you post this a few more times please? Laughing

I know, you've tried to post it repeatedly, but without immediate results.

I had the same problem yesterday. Laughing

No shit...SOB...I'm saying you get a benefit for teaching out in the boonies and maybe the K-teachers get their benefit in form of INCREASED "promotion credits". I makes sense. But, I suppose if you really were interested, you'd had simply asked a co-teacher.

Almost all the Korean teachers are doing this as a career. Some teaching jobs are good and others are lousy. To get teachers to work in the rural areas they offer bonus points. Those with the most points move up the food chain.

Since we native teachers only stay a short time in the system, offering bonus points is not worth squat. Without your extra rural pay, I think it would be very hard to get native teachers to work in the country.

Talking with my co-teacher, she wishes she was also getting extra pay instead of points.
