I'm looking for a good 100+ hour online TEFL course. I'm currently working in Korea but will be moving to China next year, so something 'international' would be good.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

I liked "International TEFL corp"

http://www.teflcorp.com/tefl_certificate_tutor.htm

Just finished it. Price isn't too bad... 295USD, but conversion rate sucks

Hi Dave

I'm currently doing an online course through i to i.

I don't know if I would call it "good" but it is what it is. I've found it quite boring but not especially difficult so far having completed about 30/40 hours of the initial TEFL certification. To finish the 100hr requirement I must do a specialist grammar cert which takes another 40 hrs (bringing the total to 80) and then I must pick 4 more specialist certs taking 5hrs each.

Have a look if you like but if someone else has found something better I'd advise going with that option instead. So far the course seems to have a heavy grammar component that I haven't found particularly useful.

I've heard that CELTA certification is better, but it is also significantly more expensive than these online courses. I wish I'd done a CELTA but its just time + money that I don't have.

Good luck in your search!

Try any on this list http://www.diigo.com/list/eflclassroom/higher-education-_-tefl-education

There are also a few search engines for courses on that list. Lots of other lists made by dedicated sharing teachers at http://www.diigo.com/list/eflclassroom A great way to find out what's out there.

There is a lot out there. I'd suggest shopping around for what fits YOU and then maybe asking specific questions here about it.

I'm not sure if it matters, but when I looked into that program when I was choosing a program, it said that they send out the certificates as you finish. Meaning, you'll get a 40 hour cert for TEFL, then another for grammar and then 4 more for the specialties. I decided not to do it because I wasn't sure if schools would accept the individual certs as a whole, meaning that you completed a 100+ TEFL course.

Does anyone have any experience with American TESOL Institute or the Bridge Linguatec online certificate program? I was interested in those programs, but would like some feedback.

That is a good point. Never underestimate the stupidity of Korean bureaucracy. OP maybe steer clear of mine until I can find out for sure. If someone on here has done an 'i to i'course can you please post of it was successful in getting you a raise?
