|

I was given notice and my last day of work is March 31st. I never bothered getting my alien card and I have (or had) till April 5th to get one. I'm assuming that I can stay in Korea until April 5th, but that I can get an exit order that will give me until April 30th to leave the country.
With a letter of release, can I go into immigration anytime now to get the exit order? |

Do you really need an exit order if the school is letting you go? As for your ARC card, how did they pay you? You need one to open a bank account. |

An exit order gives you 30 days more in-country after your last teaching day. I suppose you could just go to the airport and hand in your alien card, but I want to apply for another job which requires cancellation of my alien card. I never got an alien card for this job. With my last job, I had to cancel my ARC with my previous job and do another visa run. After the visa run, you are given 90 days to get your new alien card. Since I was let go about a month after I started (I cost them too much money), I didn't want to bother going for and paying for the medical to get my ARC. Wouldn't make sense, really.
I've had a bank account here since early 2005. |
