Hi all
I plan on buying a 32" LG HDTV flatscreen tv and I was wondering, since its not too large a size, would I see any difference at all between on 32" model that displays 720p and one that displays 1080p ??
The 1080p is obviously more money, so I wanted to find out before I chose
Ill be sitting/viewing fairly close to the TV as well.
Thanks |

At 32", it's not worth it to bother. Even if you're sitting somewhat close, IMHO. I've owned 1080p, 720p, and 1080i (768p)TVs.
See here:

The chart basically says that for a 32", you'll have to sit closer than 5.5 feet away to notice much difference. The chart points out when you start to notice a slight difference, but you wouldn't notice the full 1080p difference unless you were maybe 4 feet away. Remember, the non-1080p 32" sets are going to actually be 1366x768 resolution, making the chart about 5 feet away, rather than 6 or so. That resolution is 768p, and is better than 720p.
That's been my personal experience, as well. In a TV that small, you just waste your money on 1080p. Maybe you should look into big computer monitors instead. |
