lately, whenever i use the word 'something' (like, "tell me something about your family"), it elicits sniggers from the kids and they parrot "sahm-ting."

Was this in a kpop song or what? It's annoying that I have to avoid so many words in my language because it's part of some stupid pop song or TV ad.

'Something' sounds like 'same same' a Korean Konglish word for 'same thing' That might be what the kids are being amateur about.

Haha true. Then there were three "sorry" songs in a row.

I've spent the week explaining that "loser" is definitely not a synonym for "short".

I don't know about the something thing. I'll ask my students tomorrow.
