Hi all,

I really need your help with some information, please. I already have my F2-1 visa as my wife is Korean.

The problem is that I have to enter Korea within the next 90 days since my F2-1 visa is single entry only. My contract where I am living now does not finish until June.

My wife called the consulate today, but no one was available.

How long does it take to get your ARC after you apply for it?

How can I get a multiple entry instead of a single entry on my visa? Do you know how many days that takes?

Please help. This is very urgent as I might have to resign my job to go to Korea to get this processed.

Thanks so very much

I've had an ARC issued to me on the same day when I was in a pinch. I also had a multiple-entry added to my visa same day as well. I'm pretty sure if you can clearly explain your circumstances they'll do what they can to help you out.

I reckon expediting paperwork is less of a headache for them than dealing with the fallout of an overstay/entry problem.

However, immigration seems to be all about exceptions, not rules so I would get someone on the horn ASAP to make sure you can get it taken care of. Get a name, title, department, and extension from the officer you speak with as well.

Depends what time of year. Sep and March you have all the new public school teachers trying to get theirs. This can clog up the system for weeks. The multi-entry stamp is usually walk in, walk out, same day kinda thing. Be insistent, even a nuisance, drag your wife there to scream at them.
