Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone here has ever had any dealings with the unfortunately-named Hackers Language Research Institute. Have any of you worked for them before? Are they trustworthy? What's their reputation on the street?
Thanks! |

Even if it's a good school, imagine putting that name on a resume when you go back home. |

I've heard of them. Did not know they had an interest in hiring native English speakers. |

This is a trustworthy test prep school with a solid curriculum. To my knowledge, you must be able to speak Korean for a position.
If you're good and can pack the students into your class, you could make six figures. You'd better know your stuff, though, or the professional hagwon students will eat you alive.
The hours are the real turn-off at Hackers: lots of splits, and schedules change in a flash.
I really like the name. Being able to "hack" a test by learning question types and strategies is critical to beating it. Some schools just focus too much on beating the test, or its opposite, improving general English skills, whereas a centered appoach between these two poles is more effective with longer-lasting benefits. |
