A few questions:
Does the medical check need to be from a Korean hospital? I got a thorough STD check at the free clinic in New York in December- I could probably track them down and have them send me something, but I don't know if this will suffice. Also, what, if any, is the bottom line on whether or not a drug test is required??
Also, don't I have 90 days to get the medical exam? Or was that false information I heard somewhere?
Next, I heard a nasty rumor that once you get a lump sum tax refund at the end of your contract, you can't get it again?? This makes no sense, and I doubt it's true, because where does that money go if they never give it to you again?? But I'm a little worried, because I got the lump sum refund at the end of my first year.
Lastly (for now), though I have a while to figure this out, am I required to get a new criminal background check for my next visa, even if I renew with my school and have been in Korea for the entire last year since my last background check?? |

I got my first one done in Canada, but you definitely need more than an STD check. I took the official health check form to my doctor and had her fill it in and sign it. Don't know about drug test.
You have 90 days from your entry date to apply for your ARC. You'll want to get your health check sometime before then.
The health check is only good for three months, then you need a new one. |
