Hi, I've been in Korea a couple of months and would like to get cable TV. I'm not the biggest TV watcher really, but it'd be nice to be able to get more news in English. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I looked at sekisat.com but am inquiring about any other options. Thanks for advice in advance.

Local cable companies usually have a few basics in English, but not much for news. Two places I've had wanted a 10,000 won per month premium extra charge just for CNN. I never bothered. The English channels I did get were Discovery, and movies on one or two movie channels. That's about it!

I once got Skylife, which advertised a bunch of channels I thought were in English, but they were Korean-dubbed -- major disappointment! Avoid Skylife!

I'll warn you now... DO NOT give Skylife your bank account information for payment. I had to cancel my bank account to keep them from withdrawing money out of my account, despite multiple phone calls to them where they assured me the problem was handled. It never was. They just kept on taking money out, even after I canceled my contract.
