I'm curious. Are there any members here who have applied with the Incheon Education Board for a public school position and can tell me whether job applicants with 'any' criminal record are disqualified from acquiring a teaching position? Thanks.

Although a principal at a high school in Siheung wanted to hire me, he was compelled to decline once my possession of marijuana conviction ($50 fine) came to light. GEPIK refuses to hire people with any criminal record and its policy holds even if people are hired directly through a school situated in Gyeonngi province. It's too bad, since a private high school in Seoul hired me last year in spite of my conviction and Immigration issued me an E2 visa. Cool
