I know the basics of computers but I'm not a tech guy, so please bear with me.
I just switched jobs/locations and I picked up a new laptop when I was back in Canada between jobs, so I'm now running 2 computers. I don't have a router, so I just switch the cable back and forth between the two. I'm using the old computer to download stuff and sometimes for the Internet. I'm running the same version of Firefox on both computers (3.0.10).
My problem is that when I'm on the old computer and I click "Open in New Tab," I'm frequently getting an "Address not found" warning. I usually have to refresh the tab once or twice to get the link to load properly. This is happening about 50% of the time. I never had this problem before I moved here, and I'm not having any problem on the new computer.
Anyone got any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

XP or Vista?

Doesn't sound like a Firefox exclusive.

Does it happen with IE as well? Seems more like a configuration problem with the computer. Check your connection settings.

I'm running XP on the old computer (the one with the problem) and Vista on the new one.
I never use IE so I don't know if it's affecting it or not. I'll try Explorer for a while and see if I have the same problem.

I get it all the time after I've been playing source engine games (Counter Strike, Left 4 Dead, TF2) for a while. Quite strange. Anyway, if I turn off Zonealarm, I can load pages normally. Not a great solution, I know.

ZA has issues with Vista that SP2 apparently sorts out.

ZA is a bit crappy. Try Comodo.
