I'm selling a 37 inch XCANVAS LG LCD TV, in perfect working order, no dead pixels, and in excellent aesthetic condition. TV has been barely watched, and has been literally untouched since I moved into my new apartment last year. comes with wall mount (stand will have to be bought separately). this is an expensive tv, it retailed for over 3,000,000W when the product debuted in mid 2006 (specially released for the world cup events), i bought it new in late 2007 for around 1,600,000W due to the discount i received as an employee of the LG Electronics PDP/LCD/OLED division at the time. if you do searches for the tv, it will still show at prices ranging from 2,000,000W~2,600,000W on various websites.

the real jewel on this tv is the time machine feature, something which was reserved only for this particular model of XCANVAS series tvs and something which is not included in the hardware of american LG tvs. time machine is, as simply as i can put it, a korean form of built in TiVO in the television. you can record shows, and program the tv to record a future show in advance if you have cable programming. you can also pause and rewind shows as you are watching them in real time. works just like TiVO, minus the extra monthly fee.

the TV also has a hard drive which you can upload pictures, music and other forms of media on to for viewing on the screen. the harddrive is part of the time machine feature.

the picture and sound quality is simply amazing, and surpasses the LCD TVs by other manufacturers currently out on the market. HDTV is readily available and there are HDMI sockets in the back for those of you who want to play video games in high definition as well.

The main features of the LG 37LB1DR LCD TV are:

37 inch / 94 cm screen
Resolution WXGA 1,366 x 768
Contrast Ratio: 1,600:1
3D Digital Comb Filter improves the picture resolution and makes images softer and cleaner
Digital Progressive Scan gives a higher quality picture
DCDi high picture quality
2 x 10W speakers and 2 x 15W woofers
SRS TXT provides an enhanced surround sound listening experience
Base Booster Effect gives a reinforced strong bass sound when listening as traditional audio systems on TV struggle to reproduce the original live recorded bass sounds
8 day electronic programming guide
Intelligent Eye enhances and optimises the picture quality by measuring the ambient light conditions in your room
Picture in picture allows you to watch 2 channels at once
Double Window allows you to watch 2 channels side by side
POP
Ez-cable management
2 HDMI and 3 SCART sockets
Component
S-Video
DVI
PC Input
Composite

The dimensions and weight of the LG 37LB1DR LCD TV are:

Width: 1045.8mm
Height: 594.4mm
Depth: 133mm
Weight: 36.7kg

I had the time machine feature on my first LG LCD television. Mine was 1080p, though. It's neat, but you really need digital cable to get the most out of the situation. If you do have digital cable, it's really, really great.

For a two year old tele- it shouldn't.
I'd suggest a max amount of 750k won.
That'd seem fair to me .

Time Machine is just an internal DVR (Digital Video Recorder). It allows you to record shows to its internal hard drive. If you have digital cable, there is a menu system that allows you to choose a show by name and record it. Mine was all in Korean, but I could figure it out. I didn't have digital cable, so I was only able to menu-record from the HDTV and Digital sample channels provided by my cable company. You can schedule a time and channel record, however, and set it to record at the same time every week/day/whatever.

Price for this TV should be in the 800,000 range.

I would agree with the 700-800K price range.

These are great TVs. I have the 42" model (except it's 1080p) and the Time Machine feature is very handy if you have lots of channels, or just to put music or photos on for when friends visit.

Mine was 1.45m at Emart a month ago.

The same model without Time machine was about 150K cheaper, but my missus' best friend had that model so apparently we had to go one better.

High end electronics will lose their value REAL fast. Mainly because the features and specs that made them high end become standard after a couple years.

OP, if I were you, I'd put your TV on the Naver Cafe "중구나라". Ask for 1,000,000won and see what people say on there.

The TV being offered has a contrast ratio of 1600:1 according to the OP. However, it seemed low, and upon checking, I found stats online that said the contrast ratio is 5000:1.

As well, the OP's tv is HD and not Full-HD.

All the new 42-inch Full-HD LCD's by XCanvas basically have a contrast ratio of 50,000:1.

The OP's TV is almost 2 years old, which means almost out of the warranty period. Is there an extended warranty?

Current prices of over 2,000,000 won for that TV are ridiculous, since 5,000:1 for contrast ratio is prehistoric, and HD is almost that as well (since they make Full-HD now). In fact, it's only 37 inches, which is still on the small side.

Ever buy a used car with flashy rims, upgraded speakers, a unique spoiler, and a cool paint job? The costs for those things is almost completely a wash (owner gets back maybe 25% of the cost if he's lucky). The "time machine" is an extra benefit you paid for but won't recover money from. I think you'll be lucky to get 700,000 won for the TV.

Oh, and XCanvas delivers, do you? Smile

thanks for the contrast ratio correction, the specs i posted were from the english parallel product sold in the states, which is for the LG 37LB1D - almost identical but i have the LG 37LB1DR (made and distributed strictly in korea), and the stats for my machine were all in korean no matter where i looked, so i opted for the english stats.

as for what price the tv currently retails for new... don't shoot the messenger haha. it is what it is, i suppose.

as for delivery... probably not lol. it's available for pick-up in central seoul though if anyone is interested.

i guess i should ask for 800,000W, throw me an email at [email protected] if interested.
